40 Belgian Shepherds rescued from cramped New York City apartment: еhey lived in captivity and never went outside

Rescuers found 40 Belgian Shepherds of various ages in a dirty and cluttered apartment in Queens.

According to rescuers, the dogs lived in complete isolation from the outside world, huddled in closets, a pantry, under furniture and cramped rooms “without access to fresh air or sunlight.” The animals never went outside or met people.
After being rescued, the dogs were taken to a shelter, where they are undergoing a medical examination and gradually adapting to new conditions – every new sound and contact with a person causes them stress.

According to the Animal Care Center of New York, many of the rescued shepherds will require long-term care due to lack of socialization, so their organization is asking for other dogs to be adopted to make room for the shepherds.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances under which the animals ended up in such terrible conditions
